The Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh

A free market economy, the availability of a well-educated, Englishspeaking human resources base, the cost-effective services that Andhra Pradesh offers have all been attracting business from other shores. To capitalise on and extend the reach of foreign investment, the State needs to have a strong, competitive, physical and regulatory infrastructure.

The State Govt. incorporated Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC) in 1973 as the nodal agency to identify and develop industrial growth centres in the State with comprehensive infrastructure facilities to enable sustainable progress.

In order to provide for the rapid development of physical and social infrastructure in the State, attract private sector participation in infrastructure building, to present bankable projects to the private sector and to improve the level of infrastructure in the State, the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh(GoAP) enacted

The Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure Development Enabling Act, 2001.

The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has shown keen interest in increasing private and Govt. to Govt. (G to G) participation in the development of infrastructure facilities in the State. In the last one decade, it has built a proven track record of Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) Projects, Joint Ventures (JV) and infrastructure projects in various sectors including Information Technology, iotechnology, Ports, Power, Tourism, Roads etc.

The recognition of this need led the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh to create the Infrastructure Corporation of
Andhra Pradesh (INCAP) on 31st May, 2005, as a part of the Department of Infrastructure and Investment
working directly under the super vision of the Hon'ble Chief Minister. INCAP was envisaged to expressly
increase the pace of infrastructure development by assisting the setting up and development of Private public Participation projects in the State. It is designated to don the roles of a Developer, Advisory, Financier and Manager, and to render a full range of services in every phase of project
development, from inception to completion.

AP IDEA 2001 INCAP will enable the creation of Special Purpose Vehicles that will provide much needed impetus to
infrastructure investment in the State and accelerate the rate at which such infrastructure is put in place.
INCAP will thus enable socioeconomic progress and all round development of the State.
